Capital Campaign

Rejoice, Renew, Revive Capital Campaign

Since CPUCC was founded, generations of our church family have focused on welcoming and serving others and fulfilling our mission to living the gospel mission into the world: to deepen faith, to make disciples, and to build the just and caring Kingdom of God. Today, this outreach is especially important as we seek to meet the growing needs of our Congregation, community, and world. To continue this important mission, we must repair, renovate and upgrade the facilities, some of which have seen us through decades.

Our Plans

Our church building is now more than 61 years old, and we must maintain, repair, and update it to have a safe, secure, comfortable, and energy-efficient place for worship services and community outreach. The work we do will allow us to more efficiently use our annual resources and maximize our attention on Worship, Education, Fellowship and Outreach. The less things break down, the less we pay for utilities, the more focus and finances we can bring to our priorities. As with any home, there are certain projects that need to be completed first due to urgency, timeline, and available funds.

Our Priorities

The following are the highest priorities over the length of the campaign (click on links to view projects):

Thank You!

We are deeply grateful for your generous support of the Rejoice, Renew, Revive Capital Campaign.

During the initial work to repair our brick masonry, a structural problem was uncovered with one of the walls. An engineering consultation confirmed the need for significant repairs. On September 20, 2021, Council approved paying for this expense from the capital campaign, and increasing our goal to $575,000 to cover the additional costs. Any additional pledges and contributions to the Capital Campaign to help defray the cost of this extra expense are greatly appreciated.

Your pledge and donations to the campaign are confidential but we have received 73 pledges so far totaling $472,334 which is 82% of our new $575,000 goal. Like you, many people love God and this congregation. We are truly blessed with many wonderful members in this faith community!

We have been able to begin many projects due to donations received so far. As of 1/31/22 we have received $266,879. Thank you for your generosity.

Your Generosity in Action…

Additions to make Bathrooms more Accessible and New Water Heaters and Pumps (Jan. 2022)

Now that the brick work is complete we’re on to installing the remaining new windows around the building. This includes all the rooms on the second floor and the Library, Sunday School Room and Nursery on the first floor. Project should be mostly complete by the second week of November.

Brick Wall Work

The repairs to the bowing brick work in the back by the garden wall/classrooms has been completed (October 2021).

Live Streaming Equipment

Lisa Nybeck and Anna Kohr are working with the new equipment for live streaming. The camera was purchased with grant funds awarded to CPUCC from the Ida W. Browning Trust, but the remainder of the equipment for live streaming was purchased with Capital Campaign funds. Thank you for making this possible!
We are under contract for several other projects and are awaiting confirmation of start date for brick repair work, window replacement and drainage improvement. Watch for pictures and information as projects proceed.

New Digital Sign (Spring 2022?)

This week (9/2/21) we met with a digital sign company and they brought out their truck with samples of varying displays. This picture doesn’t accurately reflect how good they looked! It was kind of fun to think about how nice this will look out front of the church. We are still in the EARLY stage of this project as we’ll be meeting w/other companies and we need to work with the township for approval of placement location. Stay tuned!

As part of the project we are cleaning up the property in the front lawn by the brick Church sign. Thank you to Tom F. who has been here working to remove a bunch of the old shrubbery that currently hides much of the sign. (9/2/21)
