Garnetta Curtis, Office Manager

Garnetta was born and raised in Washington, D. C. She graduated from Spingarn High School and started her business career with AT&T, where she was employed for 26 years as Administrative Manager/Supervisor. While employed at AT&T, she earned her associate degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Afterwards she worked as an independent contract for several businesses in Maryland and Washington, D. C.: Prince Georges Hospital Administration Office and Teen Clinics; Fannie Mae Housing Administration, and for privately-owned businesses. She moved to Pennsylvania in 1997.

Her hobbies include bowling, tennis, reading, traveling, gardening (flowers and plants) and Studying my Bible. I am a people person, no one is a stranger to me. I love nature, love to visit different places in PA. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ guides my life every day. My prayer each morning: “thank you father for waking me up this morning in my right mind, quide me this day to do your will Lord, not mind.” Garnetta and her husband, Steve, have two grown daughters, LaVone and Monique from her previous marriage.

Carol Boris, Office Assistant

Carol came to CPUCC with over 25 years of office manager/supervisory experience. In July 2021, she retired from Deloitte after 14 years. There she had led a team who handled operations for the building which included security, shipping and receiving, reception, event planning and meeting coordination where we supported over 1,000 employees. She also worked with outside vendors to complete all maintenance and cleaning. Once retired, she wanted to work somewhere where the primary goal was to support other people mentally, physically, and/or spiritually.

She has 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 9 to 20 years old. She feels fortunate to also have two son-in-laws who feel more like sons than in-laws. From the spring to the fall, you will find Carol outside almost every day happily planting flowers, weeding, or mowing the lawn. She recently took up pickle ball and loves it. Her favorite place is the beach where she enjoys swimming (until the waves get too rough and knock her over) and then she retreats to a lounge chair with a good book. She is definitely a warm weather person!

She feels blessed to have been offered the office assistant position at CPUCC. Since being here, she have met a group of fantastic, helpful and kind people whose dedication to the church absolutely amazes her.
